My middle name holds special significance in my culture. Tradition has been passed down through generations, and the name Maria is deeply rooted in Mexican heritage. However, my middle name was chosen to complement my first name and avoid confusion with others who may have the name Maria as their first name. The name Maria is derived from the Virgin Mary, and in Mexican culture, it is highly revered to bear her name. Additionally, my mother’s maiden name is the one I carry for everything people call me by. Each person has a unique story behind their middle name, and the most important aspect is how it contributes to their identity. In my case, my middle name is an integral part of my personal identity, and I proudly declare, “That is my name.”
